Guide to Android Poker

Introducing Nexus Poker For Android

Best Android Poker Interface

We like our Android phones and tablets, so we made sure nexuspoker User Interface feels completely native. Though our top goal is to produce an easiest poker on Android. Everything in the game is touch based. You would not be needing to type anything unless you want to chat. Yes! Poker without chat, even mobile poker, is boring, so we included chat. You still have to to bet, call or raise, that is what you do in poker. However on Android you do not want to type anything. We created convenient and precise sliders so you can make an exact bet with a single swipe of a finger. We logged thousands of hands on our Android poker client. Testing and working out kinks until poker playing experience is smooth, consistent and enjoyable.

Great Playability

With nexuspoker mobile poker for Android you do not have to give up playability. Most other Android poker apps limit number of players to 2-6 per table. We do not. Whether you play poker on an Android tablet or even smaller Android devices, you can still play regular 9 handed tables. It’s extremely important to be able to play full table because otherwise you would have to alter your poker strategy. Normally, when you call, suspecting that you do not have the best hand, you play for implied odds. Those odds are very different for 3 or 4-handed (typical mobile poker app) vs full table (9-handed). Therefore, when short handed, you have to make a bunch of adjustments to your starting hand selection as well as calling requirements. Well, no adjustments are necessary on nexuspoker as you can play full tables. We believe that Android poker playability should be the same as regular poker on PC or Mac.

No Poker Simulation

Many Android poker apps offer mere poker simulation. In other words you play against computer, which simulates 2-3 poker opponents for you. Have you ever wondered why your opponents seem dumb as wood? Well you may be playing against computer simulated poker players. Nothing wrong with that except playing against real people is much more fun. What makes it fun is real humans will dynamically change their poker style as they are actively trying to outplay you. Nexuspoker offers only true multiplayer poker for Android. Meaning you play against real people, not computer.

Of course Internet connectivity is required. Any connection, either 3G or WiFi, works just fine. Do not worry about wasting your precious data allowance. Our Android poker client bandwidth requirements are very moderate. For a very long daily session expect to consume no more than 100-200K of bandwidth. If you have a choice between Wifi and 3G, then WiFi is preferable because of lower latency.

Android Compatibility

You must be wondering whether your Android device would be compatible with nexuspoker? Android is a relatively new mobile OS, which is still evolving rapidly. As of early 2012 most Android phones run Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread. While Android tablets are predominantly on Android 4.0 aka Icecream Sandwich. Instead of sifting through technical specs we simply list all Android devices from major manufacturers, which we deem compatible. For a full list of Android tablets please refer here.

Our poker for Android client is a full featured multiplayer poker game.
